Migration from Magento 1 to Magento Commerce 2.3 for a refreshed purchase experience.

The migration to Magento 2.3 was executed along with the website redesign and new features to provide a superior purchase experience.

About Rex:

Pinturerías Rex is the biggest Paint retailer in Argentina with more than 50 Stores. Rex is well-known for its personalized assistance by certified sales reps to provide the best solution to each particular need. The challenge for Rex consisted in moving to the next level in providing a personalized and omnichannel experience in their eCommerce store.

Our Solution:

The Solution proposed by Summa Solutions included the upgrade from their existing store in Magento 1 to Magento Commerce 2.3.  The new platform takes advantage of many of the new functionalities provided by Magento:

  • Multi-Source Inventory:  The clients can now check the inventory of a product on each store with the corresponding “available to pick-up” time.
  • Advanced Search Engine based on Elastic Search:  The new search engine provides predictive search, featured product highlights, spellcheck and related terms management.
  • Magento Staging & Preview:  To plan, test and schedule content changes in the website.
  • Magento Page Builder:  Drag & Drop tool to create CMS and Landing pages.

The Result:

The new version of Pintuerías Rex has been successfully launched in April 2019 on Magento Commerce 2.3.  The new site has improved the page load time and provides a true omnichannel experience including functionalities as online inventory check on physical stores, estimated pickup-availability time, Ship from the nearest store, etc.   In turn, Pinturerías Rex uses Magento’s bundle products so clients can build their personalized colors during the purchase process.
