How to Import Customers on Magento

If you are implementing a Magento Ecommerce store, one impotant step is to import customers. It could be you are migrating from an older Magento version, from other platafom, or simply you are implementing Magneto new online ecommerce store.

Firstly you shoud know there is an Import/Export tool which is under the System menu and how to use it. You should use it for complete the import process. 

Step by Step:

1. Dowload here the Customer file to import you are going to complete with your customers data to import the new customers (keep the values from the columns have been completed).
2. Go to System -> Import/Export -> Profiles
3. Select the profile called "Import Customers"
4. From the left menu select Upload File and select your .CVS completed for the Step 1.
4. The fallowing Step es to "Run Profile" (left menu), select the file You have already upload and click on "Run profile in Popup".
6. Importation process begin in a news window and when it give a finish message (Don't close the window)

Tips:
It's important to use the file attached in the Step 1 because Magento need some columns values completed (website, group_id, group, created_in, is_subscribed.)

The Customer importation are going to add new Customer in the admin, no repeat existing customers.
